The JuniorZ team has been working for more than 2 years to change the system of physical education in schools, popularize interesting sports and active games among children and teenagers. The main principles of sports promoted by the movement: non-contact, non-traumatic, gender accessibility (all games can be played by boys and girls together), inclusiveness. To implement such changes, the trainers and organizers of the movement toured 19 cities of Ukraine, conducted training for about 2,000 physical education teachers and festivals for more than 10,000 children.
Our team, led by the IOSJ founder Nadiia Ratke, fully shares these values and supports JuniorZ's desire to cultivate the right attitude towards a healthy lifestyle for Ukrainians, which begins with physical education classes. Therefore, we have a close desire to reform the system of physical education in schools, to find interesting sports for children to motivate them to engage in physical education with pleasure.
Teachers of physical education, sports, swimming, gymnastics, and choreography, who teach in secondary schools, can take part in the nomination “JuniorZ Physical Education Teacher”. Our foundation undertakes to support the nomination - the winner will receive a week-long trip to Germany with an educational program, such as a visit to the Olympic Village, acquaintance with athletes and German methods of school sports education, as well as a cash prize from the JuniorZ (UAH 30,000).
You can apply for or nominate your favorite teacher until August 1, 2020, on the globalteacherprize.org.ua. The winners will be determined on October 3, International Teacher's Day.
